Cut Flowers of the Year
2025 Cut Flowers of the Year
The Association of Specialty Cut Flower Growers, Inc. announces its selections for the 2025 Cut Flowers of the Year.
These varieties are chosen by the ASCFG’s 3,000+ members on their ease of culture, productivity, and marketability.

Fresh Cut Flower of the Year
Zinnia ‘Queeny Lemon Peach’
This variety is new to the cut flower market. Plants bloom in unique, highly sought-after warm, peachy shades. The medium bloom size of the Queeny series is versatile and sturdy, and the long flowering season ensures a consistent supply. This standout variety builds on zinnias’ reputation as one of the most widely grown and reliable cut flowers across North America. Zinnias consistently rank in ASCFG members top annual crops for profitability and production.

Cut Foliage of the Year
Sedum ‘Autumn Joy’
This versatile perennial offers harvest flexibility – cut green for summer sales, pink for early fall, or burgundy for autumn designs. Each stage is useful for cutting, providing different design possibilities from a single planting. The succulent texture adds unique interest to arrangements, and the sturdy stems require minimal conditioning. ASCFG members appreciate its drought tolerance, winter hardiness (zones 3 to 9), and ability to produce reliable cuts year after year with minimal maintenance.

Bulb Cut Flower of the Year
Roselily ‘Angela’
‘Angela’ showcases elegant double pink blooms with a soft, subtle fragrance that’s milder than traditional lilies. The double petals create a rose-like appearance, and the lack of pollen makes it cleaner to work with and more suitable for sensitive clients. Growers report excellent stem strength, impressive vase life of 10-14 days, and multiple blooms per stem. This variety combines the beloved lily form with innovative breeding that addresses common florist concerns and many ASCFG members report it as a consistent “sell-out” at market.

Woody Cut of the Year
Rose ‘Koko Loko’
‘Koko Loko’ is a uniquely colored floribunda rose that transitions from a soft lavender-tan to a creamy coffee color as it ages. This chameleon-like quality makes it highly sought after for bohemian and vintage-inspired arrangements. Its medium-sized blooms have excellent vase life when properly conditioned, and the plant produces abundant flushes throughout the growing season. Plants are cold hardy in zones 5 to 9. Growers value its disease resistance and productivity in diverse climate zones.
