River and Sea Flowers is a certified organic specialty cut flower farm growing on about 1.5 acres. We grow fairly intensively and grow about 1/3 acre of dahlias, 1/2 acre of herbaceous and woody perennials, 1/3 acre of annuals, with 5000 sq. ft. in tunnels. Our tunnels include an unheated rolling tunnel (movable, rolls on rails) that helps with crop rotation, as well as a permanent minimally heated tunnel, both of which see two crops a year.

We sell our flowers at farmers’ markets and a shared farmgate stand, as well as to florists, a CSA, and in bulk buckets to events. We grow dozens and dozens of varieties of diverse flower types and are constantly trying new crops.

Our farm is at sea level so we work with a very high water table. Our soil is very heavy clay and we have successfully converted our tunnels to low/no-till practices, though continue to use conventional tillage in the field.
