September 11, 2023 @ 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm EDT

Learn the basics of growing ranunculus in high tunnels, including high tunnel best practices, variety selection, the pre-sprouting process, transplanting, crop timing, spacing, pest and disease management, along with tips and tricks for producing ultra-high quality large blooms with long stems.

Jenny Marks is owner of Trademarks Flower Farm, located in the Finger Lakes Region of New York State. She specializes in growing early spring flowers (primarily Italian ranunculus) for markets, a CSA, and direct sales to florists, but also grows a variety of flowers April through October. Jenny grew up immersed in agriculture on her family’s farm, and has worked in many different aspects of agriculture since she was young including working on dairy & livestock farms, vegetable CSA farms, orchards, for the USDA, and finally settled on choosing a career in flower farming. She has taught farmers through cooperative extension beginner farmer programs and workshops, and enjoys connecting and sharing with many different kinds of growers in all regions.
