Notice of Request for Proposals

In the last five years,

the Association of Specialty Cut Flower Growers, Inc. (ASCFG) has seen an unprecedented increase in its membership. Since 2015 we have grown 154%.

This may be correlated to increased interest in all things local, as florists, wholesale buyers, and recently, brides and meeting planners search for locally-grown cut flowers, and new growers emerge to fill those needs. It has been facilitated by the ASCFG’s outreach, and our members’ social media platforms.

In that time, the organization produced 19 grower meetings in 15 states, published 20 full-color magazines, coordinated Mentors and Mentees, provided funding for on-farm research and student scholarships, and organized several national cut flower trial programs.

This has been accomplished with a staff of two full-time and one part-time employees. We have reached the point where our—and our members’—needs and desires for member services are beginning to outpace our abilities. We are seeking one or more contractors who will take on some aspects of growing our education and research programs, to successfully ensure our members’ satisfaction with the organization, and its contribution to the cut flower industry.

Candidates are welcome to apply for either or both positions. Our two RFPs share all the details and can be accessed at If additional information is needed, please contact the ASCFG.

Proposals will be accepted from January 31 until a suitable proposal is identified. The projected date for contract commencement will be on or after March 1.

We appreciate your help in sharing this information with anyone you think might be interested in these opportunities.
